Following a December ice storm in southern Iowa, the red berries of this Limber Honeysuckle (
Lonicera dioica) appear to be encased in leaded crystal. The berries of this native honeysuckle shrivel and dry over the winter, until they are consumed by goldfinches and other songbirds for their seeds. From 35mm negative.
