This male Northern Cardinal (
Cardinalis cardinalis) is perched on the branch of an Eastern Redcedar tree (
Juniperus virginiana L.). Cardinals do not migrate, but flock together in the fall and winter. In southern Wisconsin they frequently rely on redcedars for both food and cover. From 35mm negative.
