The John Muir Segment of the Ice Age Trail cuts through prairie grass north of Ennis Lake (Fountain Lake). Located within the John Muir Memorial Park in Marquette County, the trail covers ground traversed by Muir when, as a teenager, he lived on his family’s Fountain Lake Farm. The seepage lake is a popular fishing destination of area anglers and is at the heart of the Muir Park State Natural Area. From two 4x5 color transparencies cropped to create a panorama.
