Flowing over a basaltic-lava shelf, thirty-foot Brownstone Falls is formed where the Tyler Forks River joins the Bad River in its 60 to 125 foot deep canyon. Framed here by white cedar, a one-half second exposure transforms the falling water into translucent sheets cascading from the top as well as from intermediate rock ledges. The canyon is notable for its diversity and is part of the Copper Falls State Natural Area. From 4x5 transparency.
