Each winter, Bald Eagles (
Haliaeetus leucoephalus) from along the Wisconsin River gather in Sauk Prairie where they fish in the open water below the hydropower dam. Seen in the afternoon from the west bank of the river, this eagle has its talons ready to snag a fish from the icy water. From 35mm negative.
