To some, the Spiderwort looks like a squating spider from above. Its flowers last just a single day, with new buds opening each morning during the spring and early summer. This plant was located on the edge of a southern Iowa woods. The plant is also found in thickets and roadsides throughout the Midwest and Northeast. From 35mm negative.
