Spring, the time of year when new growth abounds. This is Parfrey's Glen, four miles east of Devil's Lake State Park in southern Wisconsin. Parfrey's Glen is best known for its 500 million year old bed-rock and its sandstone canyon, home to plants usually found much further north. However, you don't need to be in the canyon to feel the magic of this place. Walking along the stream on a spring morning, you can see, feel, and breath the color green. From 4x5 negative.
