This female Northern Cardinal (
Cardinalis cardinalis) is perched on the branch of an Eastern Redcedar tree (
Juniperus virginiana L.). Cardinals do not migrate, but flock together in the fall and winter. In late winter, the flocks dissolve as winter behavior gives way to spring, and the mating season. From 35mm negative.
